Sante and Kenneth Kimes, the mother and son charged with killing a businessman in March 1998, will return to Los Angeles Superior Court on July 26 for a pretrial hearing.
The Kimeses, who appeared briefly in court Wednesday, were convicted of killing an elderly socialite in New York and face capital charges in Los Angeles.
Prosecutors allege that the two killed David Kazdin on March 13, 1998, because he discovered they had taken out a $280,000 loan in his name without his permission.
