Second-Round Pick Kasun Traded

The Clippers made a trade late Wednesday evening, but it wasn’t the move they hoped would bring a standout point guard to Staples Center. Instead, the team sent center Mario Kasun, their second-round draft pick, to the Orlando Magic for future considerations.
Today, the Clippers are expected to announce they have signed Marko Jaric, a 6-foot-7 point guard who has been playing in Italy since he was selected 30th overall in the 2000 NBA draft.
So what’s next?
General Manager Elgin Baylor refused to speculate Thursday. In fact, he did not speak to the Cavaliers about continuing trade talks for Cleveland point guard Andre Miller. Talks broke down during the draft and there’s now no sense of urgency.
“There’s nothing to update today,” said Joe Safety, Clipper vice president of communications. “We’re making arrangements to bring our draft picks out here early next week.”
The Clippers drafted Maryland’s Chris Wilcox with the No. 8 pick and Fresno State’s Melvin Ely at No. 12. Deals for Miller and New Orleans point guard Baron Davis could not be completed during the draft.
