Authorities have arrested an 18-year-old man who was a passenger in a car allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident near Oxnard on Monday morning.
Josue Bautista of Oxnard was booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of vandalism. California Highway Patrol officers are looking for the driver and a second passenger who were in the black Camaro that they say ran a red light and slammed into a Dodge Caravan at Rose and Central avenues.
After the crash, which occurred about 11:30 a.m., Bautista and the two other men ran into nearby lemon orchards, authorities said, but only Bautista was found.
The driver of the Caravan complained of minor head and shoulder pain. Two children in the car were uninjured.
