Ojai Man Drowns in Lake Casitas

An Ojai man drowned in Lake Casitas early Wednesday after apparently falling from a fishing boat.
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said boaters found the body of Alex G. Marquez, 40, floating facedown about 8:20 a.m. near a boat adrift with a fishing pole and gear.
The body was discovered in a cove near the main marina parking lot, Deputy Mike Berg said.
A rescue swimmer from the Sheriff’s Department reached the victim but could not find a pulse, Berg said. Marquez was then taken to the marina, where paramedics pronounced him dead.
Sheriff’s detectives from the Ojai station were investigating the incident.
