Weekend box office

The mystery-thriller “Identity” pulled off a surprise, snagging the top spot, but the weekend’s biggest shock was how poorly the super-hyped “The Real Cancun” fared. When New Line released figures Monday, its three-day tally for “Cancun” was $40,275 ahead of “Bringing Down the House,” enough to position the unscripted South of the Border beach romp at the bottom of the top 10, along with its per-theater average.
