2nd Prison Official in 12 Days Is Killed

The head of a Rio de Janeiro prison was killed on the same road in the crime-ridden Brazilian city where another prison official was shot dead 12 days ago.
Abel Silverio, director of the Bangu III maximum-security prison, was slain while returning home, said Rio state’s penitentiary administration secretary, Asterio Pereira. Last month, two assailants shot dead the head of security at the Bangu prison complex, Paulo Rocha.
