Death of Baby Found in Yard Investigated

Police are investigating the death of a newborn found in the backyard of a home in Rubidoux on Tuesday night.
A 19-year-old living in the home gave birth and was transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley later Tuesday night, sheriff’s spokeswoman Shelley Kennedy-Smith said.
Investigators were trying to determine if the baby died after birth or was stillborn, Kennedy-Smith said.
The results of an autopsy conducted Wednesday were not available.
