Yale Employees Strike Over Wages, Pensions

Nearly 4,000 Yale University workers went on strike over wages, pensions and job security as upperclassmen began returning to the New Haven campus.
Yale spokesman Tom Conroy said the university planned to keep the campus running with managers and temporary workers. Classes for undergraduates begin Wednesday.
No new talks were scheduled. Robert Proto, president of Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Local 35, has said the sides are far apart.
