BOYS’ BASKETBALL
* Josh Shipp, L.A. Fairfax: Had 25 points, eight rebounds and six steals for the Lions, ranked No. 3 by The Times, in a 70-49 victory over No. 17 Loyola in the semifinals of the Redondo tournament.
* Matt Sargent, Huntington Beach Ocean View: Had 30 points and five assists in a 68-42 victory over Boerne (Texas) in the second round of the Lone Star Invitational in San Antonio. Sargent had 23 points, nine assists and four steals for the 11th-ranked Seahawks in a 69-51 third-round victory over John Jay (Texas).
* Jimmy House, Covina Northview: Had 12 points in a 50-39 victory over Baldwin Park Sierra Vista, giving Coach Ron Rice his 400th victory.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
* Sade Wiley-Gatewood, Lynwood: Scored 29 points in a 64-59 victory over Germantown (Pa.) for the No. 1 Knights (3-0) in the second round of the San Antonio tournament.
