Parole Chairman Moved After Boudin Decision

From Times Wire Reports

Less than four months after taking heat for the parole of ‘60s radical Kathy Boudin, the chairman of the state parole board is being reassigned, governor’s aides said.

Gov. George E. Pataki had been critical of the Boudin decision. Pataki’s criminal justice spokeswoman Lynn Rasic said Brion Travis’ job shift had nothing to do with the Boudin case.

Travis did not immediately return a call for comment.

On Aug. 20, a panel ordered the release of Boudin, who was convicted of second-degree murder and robbery after a 1981 holdup that left two police officers and a security guard dead.
