From Times Wire Reports
Prosecutors said they would seek the death penalty against serial bombing suspect Eric Robert Rudolph in a deadly blast at an abortion clinic.
U.S. Atty. Alice Martin said Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft had authorized her office to seek the death penalty in the 1998 bombing that killed a police officer and injured a nurse.
Rudolph, 36, was captured after a five-year manhunt that followed the Birmingham bombing. He also is accused in the 1996 Olympic bombing in Atlanta that killed one woman.
