Gunman in Workplace Killing Held Old Grudge

A gunman who walked into his old workplace, fatally shot a man and then killed himself was acting on an old grudge, police said.
Investigators believe John Gardner had had problems with the co-worker, Jose Manriquez, nearly 2 1/2 years ago.
Gardner may have walked into the PrintXcel printing plant on Tuesday with two handguns with the intention of killing Manriquez, police said. Company officials said they had tried to provide workplace counseling to the two men to resolve the dispute.
Gardner shot Manriquez, a father of four children, several times in the upper torso, then started several fires in the building. When police got to the scene, Gardner shot himself in the head.
