Chris Davis scored 20 points and Eto Onyenegecha scored 14 as Cal State Northridge beat Portland State, 79-63, Monday night in men’s basketball at Northridge.
Joseph Frazier added 13 points for the Matadors, and Ian Boylan contributed seven rebounds and six assists.
After leading, 37-34, at halftime, Northridge (3-4) pulled away with a 62.5% field-goal shooting in the second half, including of five-for-eight shooting from beyond the three-point arc. Will Funn led Portland State (4-6) with 17 points.
UC Riverside 83, St. Mary’s 71 -- Nate Carter scored 21 points and Kevin Butler added 19 points to lead the Highlanders (3-4) at Riverside. E.J. Rowland’s 18 points led the Gaels (6-5).
After St. Mary’s scored the first field goal of the game, Riverside responded with a three-point shot by Carter and never trailed again. The Highlanders made 27 of their 50 shots (54%) for the game.
