An all-star cast for ‘Eve’ reading

Look out, Margo Channing: An all-star reading of the “All About Eve” screenplay is in the works for March 30 at the Ahmanson Theatre, benefiting the Actors’ Fund of America.
The two leading roles -- veteran Broadway star Margo Channing and the title character, who begins as Margo’s protege but ends as her usurper -- have yet to be cast. But supporting roles are filling up with an all-star cast including Tim Curry, Blythe Danner, Victor Garber, Angela Lansbury, Melissa Manchester and Carl Reiner.
David Rambo (“God’s Man in Texas”) is adapting the original screenplay by Joseph Mankiewicz, based on Mary Orr’s story, “The Wisdom of Eve,” and one of the movie’s cast members, Celeste Holm, is chairing the event. Gordon Davidson, the Ahmanson’s artistic director, will stage the reading.
