Pharmacist Arrested in Fraudulent-Billing Case

The owner of a pharmacy was arrested Friday on federal charges of fraudulently billing private insurance companies for more than $11 million worth of medications that were never prescribed nor dispensed.
Thuan Huy Ha, 43, owner of the Ha Pharmacy, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Santa Ana. He allegedly submitted claims for fictitious prescriptions to Aetna U.S. Healthcare, Caremark, Blue Cross of California and other companies.
Ha is expected to enter a plea on the charges Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana.
