Toyota to Boost North American Capacity

Toyota Motor Corp. said it would increase its North American production capacity by about 18% this year as it positions itself to grab a bigger share of the U.S. market.

The added capacity would allow Japan’s largest automaker to build 1.48 million vehicles in North America in 2003, up from 1.25 million last year, a spokesman said.
