Airport Fencing Being Replaced for Security

Van Nuys Airport is replacing fencing around the airfield as part of plans to beef up security, city officials said.
Officials told the Los Angeles City Council’s Public Safety Committee on Tuesday that they also are looking at increasing police patrols, providing more uniform badges for and increasing background checks on those working on airport property, and reducing the number of vehicle access points at the nation’s busiest general aviation airport.
