Sabbath Prayer Slips Israeli Astronaut’s Mind

Israel’s first astronaut said he has been so busy in orbit he forgot about the religious commemoration he had planned to mark the Jewish Sabbath.
Ilan Ramon, who is working with six U.S. astronauts aboard the space shuttle Columbia, describes himself as a secular Jew, so missing the Sabbath is nothing unusual for him. But before his launch he said he planned to say a Sabbath prayer to honor Jews around the world. “I hope I get it next Friday,” he said.
