Mom Threw Twin Sons Into River, Police Say
- Share via
A woman threw her twin infant sons off a bridge into the Mississippi River, then jumped in herself, screaming incoherently as she fell 75 feet to the water, St. Paul police said.
A man rescued one of the 11-month-old boys Friday, then the mother was pulled to safety. By then, the second boy had disappeared, police said. A baby’s body was found 17 miles downriver Sunday night, and police said officials were “all but technically sure it’s the child.”
Naomi Gaines, 24, and the rescued boy were expected to recover. She could face charges as early as today.
