N.J. Will Allow Hunt to Reduce Number of Bears

State regulators approved New Jersey’s first bear hunt in 33 years because of a growing number of animals raiding trash cans, trying to get into houses and killing pets and livestock. Officials voted 8 to 1 to issue up to 10,000 free permits to people who pass a course on bear hunting. The hunt will be Dec. 8-13.
