Swashbuckling Johnny Depp may have attracted the biggest audience, but some lower-profile, limited releases in Los Angeles and New York also merit attention. Paramount Classics’ “Northfork,” which stars Nick Nolte, James Woods and Darryl Hannah, delivered a healthy per screen average of $12,296 in five theaters, second only to “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” which averaged $14,265 in 3,269 venues. “Northfork’s” three-day total is $61,481. “I Capture the Castle,” a drama based on a book by Dodie Smith, author of the very different “The Hundred and One Dalmatians,” grossed $51,970 in eight theaters, or $6,496 per location. “The Housekeeper,” a French film from Palm Pictures, brought in $42,083 in a half-dozen theaters, averaging $7,014.
