Clintons Shouldn’t Have to Pay Legal Fees
- Share via
Regarding the July 15 federal appeals court ruling on reimbursement of the Clintons’ Whitewater legal fees: Payment of the lawyers’ fees should be made by all those who forced the Whitewater investigation to take place and didn’t have the guts to say no when presented with flimsy evidence. This would include many in the TV and print media, many members of Congress and former Atty. Gen. Janet Reno.
Reno OKd an investigation into Clinton’s sex life by the independent counsel, who was initially approved to investigate only Whitewater but whose primary task was to get Clinton. Only a fool appears without a lawyer. So the Clintons were stuck with all these bogus charges and had to hire the best lawyers available.
After $70 million of government money, there was not a shred of evidence to connect the Clintons to anything illegal in Whitewater. So let all those frustrated Republicans use their money to pay up with the same eagerness that they squandered taxpayer money.
