Dust-up over used books
James Verini’s “Seeking Nirvana in a Dusty Bookshelf” (July 17) was quite possibly the most irritating story I have ever read concerning used-book stores. I am a 23-year-old copy editor who frequently haunts these fascinating abodes, not to stir up dust or meet the creepy, “layabout” characters spoken of in his article, but to find cheap books without being inundated with fluorescent lights, ridiculous price tags and ubiquitous lattes.
