Explosive Device Found on Airplane

Police found an explosive device on a plane waiting to board passengers for a domestic flight returning to Rome from Ancona, officials said. The explosive was located under a seat on an Alitalia plane.
An airport police statement said officials found “a suspicious wrapping that turned out to contain explosive material.” A fire department official at the airport said police had received an anonymous call alerting them. They removed the device and safely exploded it, said the official. No arrests had been made.
