GE Agrees to Acquire Software Firm Triple G

General Electric Co. said that it agreed to buy Toronto-based Triple G Systems Group Inc. for $55 million to expand the U.S. conglomerate’s line of software that hospitals use to track the testing of blood samples and other lab specimens.
The purchase will help GE’s Milwaukee-based medical information-technology business expand the software and services it sells to help doctors and nurses store and share patient data.
