From Staff and Wire Reports
The county Board of Supervisors endorsed a growth plan for unincorporated areas.
The update of the county’s general plan, which guides long-term development, has been fiercely debated for five years and Wednesday’s unanimous approval was not the final vote.
The full update, which will guide policy through 2020, isn’t expected until 2005.
Wednesday’s vote signaled that supervisors “support the direction” of the study and want staff to continue working on it.
The general plan has not been changed in 24 years.
