Eighty-one varsity and junior varsity high school athletic teams in the City Section have been put on probation and will not be permitted to play in at least one tournament this season for failing to turn in the proper paperwork to the section’s athletics office.
The City Rules committee decided to start imposing punishment because schools were repeatedly missing deadlines to submit paperwork for tournament participation. There were more than 300.
Among the schools that will have to drop a tournament this season are Reseda in boys’ and girls’ basketball, Wilmington Banning in baseball and Westchester in baseball. Westchester also has been banned from playing host to any tournament in boys’ basketball.

Im began the final round four strokes off the lead but had three birdies and an eagle in his last six holes to equal the tournament record and shoot a personal best. He finished with a total of 68-72-64--204.
Amie Cochran of Torrance birdied the second hole of a playoff against Ki-Shui Lao of Alameda to complete a wire-to-wire victory. Cochran shot 70-72-74--216 in her first AJGA tournament victory.
