A jury Thursday convicted a former Pasadena minister of kidnapping and raping his wife’s 14-year-old daughter.
Elbert Freeman, 47, of San Bernardino had promised to drive the girl to the store to buy cassette tapes when he raped her the day before Thanksgiving, 2001, said Los Angeles County Deputy Dist. Atty. Philip Wojdak.
Jurors deliberated one day before convicting Freeman of forcible oral copulation, sexual penetration and forcible rape. Freeman returns to court for sentencing March 24. He faces a possible prison term of 15 years to life.
