Mother-Son Team Again Accused of Cheating Taft

Kern County prosecutors have refiled grand theft and other felony charges against mother-and-son consultants accused of cheating the city of Taft of $760,000.
In their complaint filed Wednesday, prosecutors also accuse Jacob Ritchey and Gretchen Belli, the former daughter-in-law of San Francisco lawyer Melvin Belli, of attempted grand theft, filing fraudulent claims and conspiracy to defraud Taft.
Last month, a Kern County Superior Court judge dropped a grand jury indictment against the pair.
