States and Cities Sue to Block New Air Rules

Re “13 States Target New Clean Air Act Rules,” Oct. 28: We have a president so out of touch with what’s good for this country that 13 states and more than 20 cities are now suing for protection against his policies. There was a time when the Environmental Protection Agency lived up to its name. Not under George W. Bush. New York Atty. Gen. Eliot Spitzer called the policy change an attack on the Clean Air Act. More than that, it is an attack on the American people. Energy interests are obviously more important to this president than the health of the American people. That is something none of us has to accept. I hope the lawsuits are successful and I hope next year we can put someone in the Oval Office with different priorities.
