Mayor Fills Second Public Utilities Vacancy
- Share via
Mayor Willie Brown has appointed Ryan Brooks to the city’s Public Utilities Commission.
Thursday’s appointment came two days after the Board of Supervisors denied the mayor’s request to reject the appointment of environmentalist Adam Werbach.
Werbach was appointed by Supervisor Chris Daly, who served briefly as acting mayor while Brown was in Tibet. Daly’s unprecedented use of the acting mayor’s powers infuriated Brown. But the board on Tuesday fell one vote short of dumping Daly’s appointment.
The mayor, however, took the opportunity to fill a second vacancy on the PUC and gave the job to Brooks, 33, a vice president for Viacom Outdoors.
