The French twist

Charles SOLOMON was on the mark again with his latest article on the new French animated film (“Animated Eccentricity,” Nov. 16). It sure would be nice to see more well-told stories on hand-drawn animation produced in this country. What are we getting? Plastic toy commercials! And, unfortunately, more to come in the next few years as all of the major animation studios have eliminated all 2D artists, and sent the rest of the animation work to Canada (which by the way is heavily subsidized by the Canadian government).
