Paralyzed Officer Treated in Colorado

Police Officer Dan Walters, left partially paralyzed after being shot in the neck, has been flown to Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colo., which specializes in treatment of spinal cord injuries, officials said. He is expected to be at the hospital for at least two months.
Walters, 37, a former catcher for the San Diego Padres before joining the Police Department, was shot Nov. 12 as officers were questioning a domestic-violence suspect. In an exchange of gunfire, the suspect was killed.
