Six New York City transit workers were treated for exposure to unidentified fumes in the city’s subway system, but officials said the incident was not terrorism-related.
Emergency crews responded to reports of an odor on a subway track just after 11 a.m. the day before the Thanksgiving holiday as New York remained on its highest security alert since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
“There were negative results on anything radiological. No foul play is suspected,” said John Odermatt, head of the Office of Emergency Management.
