Western Forest Fire Forces More Evacuations

Nearly 1,000 people in western Canada were forced from their homes as wind threatened to push a wildfire to the outskirts of Kelowna, British Columbia, for the second time.
The order increased the number of Kelowna residents evacuated to about 4,230, and firefighters said that without rain there was little they could do. The Okanagan Mountain fire grew over the weekend by at least 2,470 acres, to 61,750 acres.
