“Life Lessons Lead to Church Role” (Sept. 8) was a great tribute. It should be known, however, that the pastoral associate training program of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles was designed and implemented by Sister Mary Genino, of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, at the request of Cardinal Roger Mahony four years ago.
This is truly a way for lay leadership to flourish. However, it will never be what it can be without the support of both the cardinal and all pastors of parishes in the archdiocese.
