From staff and wire reports.
A motorcyclist driving at a high speed was killed late Wednesday when he lost control of his motorcycle, struck a traffic light and sheared off a fire hydrant, Anaheim police said.
Brian Christopher Little, 30, of Placentia, died at the scene on East La Palma Avenue about 9:10 p.m., authorities said.
He was traveling west when he failed to negotiate a bend near Van Buren Street, said Sgt. Rick Martinez, Anaheim police spokesman.
The accident created a traffic hazard because 12,000 gallons of water per minute spewed from the hydrant, Martinez said.
