* Julie Burney, Placentia El Dorado: Singled home Christie Nieto, who had doubled and moved to third on Emily Troup’s single, with none out in the bottom of the eighth inning for a 2-1 victory over Lake Forest El Toro in the quarterfinals of the Southern Section Division II playoffs.

* Adrienne Monka, Rancho Cucamonga: Doubled in Bernae Silva, who had singled, in the top of the seventh inning in a 1-0 Division II victory over fourth-seeded La Palma Kennedy.

* Ashley Veilleux, Westlake Village Oaks Christian: Drove in two runs and pitched a one-hitter in a 4-1 Division III victory over San Bernardino San Gorgonio.

* Frannie West, Goleta Dos Pueblos: Scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning on Megan MacIsaac’s single and drove in a run in the fourth inning in a 2-1 Division IV victory over Lompoc.

* Megan Tupper, West Hills Chaminade: Her pinch-hit double drove in Lauren Christie with the first run and Tupper scored on Danielle Zymkowitz’s single in a 2-0 Division IV victory over second-seeded Anaheim Savanna.

* Caitlyn Jackson, Pomona Catholic: Had a two-run homer in the first inning and tripled home the eventual winning run in a four-run fourth inning in a 6-3 Division V victory over North Torrance.
