GOP Letter Says Party Pulled Support of Harris

The May 7 letter from Party Chairwoman Carole Jean Jordan and two other party officials was a last-ditch effort to force Harris out of the race for the nomination to challenge Democrat Sen. Bill Nelson. But the next day, Harris turned in paperwork to get her name on the Sept. 5 Republican primary ballot.
Harris contended that all three were pressured into signing the letter by “the party elite.”
