From Times Staff and Wire Reports
South Korean businessman Tongsun Park was arrested by the FBI in Houston as new charges were unsealed in Manhattan, U.S. Atty. Michael J. Garcia said in a statement.
Park was charged in April with accepting millions of dollars from Iraq while he operated in the U.S. as an unregistered agent for Iraq’s effort to establish the United Nations oil-for-food program.
The new charges accuse Park of agreeing in October 1992 to do work for the Iraqi government with another person who is now a cooperating witness.
