$72 million slated for the homeless

The city is scheduled to receive $72 million from the federal government for homeless programs next year, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced Monday.
The money from the Department of Housing and Urban Development is $13 million more than what Los Angeles received last year, when the federal government pulled some of the funding as the city’s Housing Authority was being scrutinized for alleged mismanagement.
