DOES your inner Jackson Pollock yearn to drip, pour, squirt with a turkey baster? If so, Art Blogging L.A. (art.blogging.la) recommends a nifty little time-waster by Miltos Manetas -- jacksonpollock.org -- that lets you create your own black-paint-on-bare-canvas faux Pollock (left-click for color). Can’t get started? Try jazz for Ab Ex inspiration. Pollock (a purported procrastinator himself) is said to have listened endlessly while painting. The Museum of Modern Art in New York, as a tie-in with its 1998 Pollock retrospective, put together a CD of music from the artist’s collection. On it: Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington and others.
