And now for the final indignity everyone else in the NBA has waited all their lives for?
The Celtics, losers of 17 in a row, play host to Milwaukee on Tuesday. After today’s game at Minnesota, they may be up to 18 ... with Tuesday’s game their only one at home until Feb. 28.
With a five-game West Coast trip coming out of the All-Star break, the Celtics are within striking distance of the Cavaliers’ record 24-game losing streak.
Not that things are going badly but Paul Pierce, who had a broken bone in his foot, made last week’s trip to Detroit -- then was hospitalized with an infected elbow. Pierce then returned in Friday’s 92-78 home loss to the Nets, fitting right in by missing 12 of his 16 shots.
Of course, home-court advantage doesn’t mean what it used to. The Celtics are 4-21 at home this season.
