Continental employees get profit-sharing checks

Employees of Continental Airlines Inc. received some recompense for large wage and benefit cuts they took nearly two years ago.
The Houston-based carrier handed out $111 million in profit-sharing checks, the largest such payment in the company’s history. The sum equals about $2,500 for each of Continental’s 44,000 employees, but airline executives said payments varied according to salary and other factors.
