From ‘Departed’ to ‘The Fighter’

They dueled against each other in “The Departed.” Now Mark Wahlberg and Matt Damon may join forces.

The actors are teamed in a planned movie called “The Fighter,” Paramount Pictures said Wednesday. The film follows Massachusetts boxer “Irish” Micky Ward (Wahlberg), who was trained by his brother (Damon). After coming out of retirement, the junior welterweight Ward famously defeated Arturo Gatti in a 2002 toe-to-toe brawl.
