Militants take town, then leave

Police fled a town in western Afghanistan and suspected Taliban militants moved in, stole three vehicles and then left, provincial Gov. Muhajuddin Baluch said.
About 200 Afghan police and soldiers moved into the remote town of Bakwa in Farah province early today and faced no resistance, Baluch said. He said some NATO troops joined the operation.
The Afghan forces were searching the area for the militants, who moved into Bakwa on Monday.
