Two security guards were ordered to stand trial for rapes and kidnappings they are accused of committing while impersonating police officers.
Michael Leavelle, 29, and Jason Hockley, 20, of Bakersfield have pleaded not guilty in Kern County Superior Court to impersonating police officers, rape and kidnapping. They were arrested Feb. 21 after two women told police the men assaulted them after acting like police officers.
The pair were driving a white Crown Victoria and may have been wearing the uniforms from their jobs with the Wilshire Protection Division, a security company based in Oxnard, said Bakersfield Police Det. Greg Terry.
Leavelle was being held in Kern County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $450,000 bail, and Hockley was being held in lieu of $452,500 bail.
Their trial date will be set later this month.
