Priest as target

Re “Censure dismays priest’s supporters,” March 15
Father John Sobrino has exemplified the mandates of Christianity as enunciated in the corporal works of mercy: feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the sick, visit and help those in captivity, bury the dead. Social activism in pursuit of these goals has been condemned while priests who spend a lifetime molesting scores of innocent children suffered no such discipline. Has this world gone mad?
If Jesus Christ were to return to Earth today, he would surely look on in utter amazement and ask, “How could you take something so simple and mess it up so badly?”
