A Los Angeles Unified School District police officer has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, authorities said Friday.
Officer Ian King, a member of the school district police force, was charged Thursday with penetration with a foreign object and was released on $250,000 bail, LAPD spokeswoman April Harding said.
The LAPD declined to release details on the time or place of King’s arrest or the circumstances of the alleged crime. Nor would officials say if the alleged victim was a student.
Dan Isaacs, the school district’s chief operating officer, declined to comment on the arrest, saying that it was a personnel matter and that the district would await the results of the police investigation.
