Yes for vets, no for prisoners

Re “Two judges hold key to prison reform,” April 30

This article is enough to anger anyone. So federal judges Thelton E. Henderson and Lawrence K. Karlton think our prisoners need better healthcare, among other things.

There are a lot of hardworking people in this country who would like that too. Unfortunately, it is not easily available to them. Prisoners chose their life of crime and should not expect or get any pampering.

Henderson’s statement, “Unlike the mistreatment of veterans, nobody is up in arms about prisoners,” is deplorable. How dare he compare the two. Prisoners are in their position because of their own doing. I believe it is time for these two judges to retire.
